About Ajoy

Ajoy Kumar M S, is an Indian author, who writes in Malayalam language and hails from Thiruvananthapuram, capital city of Kerala state. He is currently working at Railway Divisional Office Thiruvananthapuram. His oeuvre mainly consists of memoirs.

He was born as the eldest son of Sukumaran Nair and Madhavikutty. He has one younger sibling. He has completed his preliminary education and his graduation in Commerce at Thiruvananthapuram. Ajoy lives at Thiruvananthapuram with his wife and two children.

Writing Career

Ajoy started his  career by publishing a book “angane oru mambhazhakalam” which won him two awards including a state award. Later on he started writing in social media and his posts became a hit with readers and created many friends and followers. The popularity of his posts encouraged him to turn it into a book.

Animation Career

Ajoy is a notable cartoonist and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in 3D Animation. Ajoy Kumar started an animation studio “Digital Fantasy Animation” at Thiruvananthapuram. His studio has created first ever 3D animated video song in association with Indiband in 2007 for MTV channel. He has also done major contributions to a 3D animation quiz program for Jeevan TV and a 3D animation film for Asianet. Later he closed down the studio and continued to work with Indian Railways. Though he has stopped the studio, he still creates Public Awareness animated videos for Southern Railway.

Awards & Recognition

Angane oru mambazhakalam has bagged Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature Award in 2011, an award for the best book on children’s literature instituted by the State Institute of Children’s Literature.

This title has also won Indian Ruminations Literary Excellence award, 2011 in Malayalam Non Fiction category
